Hanging Wisteria - watercolour abstract

Hanging Wisteria watercolour
35x24cm on NOT watercolour paper
For sale in my Etsy store, see HERE

A loose and free painting of wisterias. I wet the paper and painted most of this wet-in-wet. Gradually as it dried I added more and more details.

I like the colours and effect of this one and I had fun doing it.

Garden Flowers watercolour painting

Garden Flowers painting by Marion Hedger
30x40cm (12"x18") water colour on wc paper
Contact me about this or any other painting HERE
This painting is of some of my English garden flowers, I am contemplating an alternative title of 'Reach for the sky' as this is what always comes to mind with these stately blooms. It was painted a few years ago and reminds me of those wonderful English cottage garden flowers that I cannot grow here- but then again, many of the plants I grow here will not survive in England. It's been a while since I painted in watercolour, but I do love the lovely loose washes that can be achieved in that medium.

Swinging Datura

Swinging Datura
30x40cm watercolour on 140lb Langton wc paper

An appropriate painting to put up at Halloween -
"Datura belongs to the classic "witches' weeds," along with deadly nightshade, henbane and mandrake. Most parts of the plants contain toxic hallucinogens, and datura has a long history of use for causing delirious states and death. It was well known as an essential ingredient of love potions and witches' brews"
